Giving a preference for a setting with an EHC Plan

If a child or young person has an EHC Plan you have a legal right to request that a particular setting is named in Section I. This includes a preference for an independent school, college or other institution.

Transport arrangements

If a child or young person needs transport to get to their named setting then parent carers will need to apply to the transport team for this.

If the setting is not the nearest suitable setting that can meet the needs and provision  in the EHC plan, you may have to make your own transport arrangements.
