Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS)

If an EOTAS package is agreed

If the EOTAS package is agreed, the SEN Team will work with parent carers to discuss the package and put this in place.

Any provision which is being made on an EOTAS basis must be set out in Section F of the EHC plan.

The EHC Plan should include a transition plan in Section F. This is to support progression towards reintegration into an educational setting.

The EHC Plan will be updated to show the child or young person not being in school.

Section I of the EHCP will be left blank as the child or young person won't be attending a particular setting. Details of the EOTAS package will be in Section F of the EHCP.

Education provision will be put in place for the 38 school weeks only. Provision in holidays would need to be requested through social care. It must be based on professional advice and recommendations.

All EOTAS packages must include Maths, English and Science education as part of the offer. Post 16 packages must include English and Maths if the Young Person has not yet achieved a grade 4 or equivalent in these subjects.
