• Are working significantly below age-related expectations and have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

The Max Card is the UK’s leading discount card for foster families and families of children with additional needs. Families can use their Max Card at venues across the UK to get free or discounted admission. 

Welcome to our Family Hub and Nursery in Ovenden, where we come together to provide support and resources for our community. We are based next to Deanfield Community Primary school.

Our services include:

• Antenatal clinics
• Child Health clinics
• Baby massage
• Breastfeeding groups
• Baby/toddler group and stay and play sessions
• Daycare nursery
• Family learning activities
• School holiday activities and events

Child sight and vision clinics are held in Hudderflield and Halifax.

The Vision Impairment / Multi Sensory Impairment team support children and young people to access a curriculum appropriate to their needs

Represent the voice of other children and young people with SEND to help shape and improve services

These hubs offer information, peer support, and aim to enhance social and communication skills, independence, and resilience for individuals aged 16 and above in Calderdale.

Calderdale has over 100 play areas from small local ones to those within some of our larger parks.
