Disabled Children and Young People's Register

Register on our database of children and young people aged 0-25 years with disabilities or special educational needs living in Calderdale.

The voluntary register helps us plan services for disabled children and young people.

This form can be completed by

  • A parent, carer or guardian of a disabled child or young person.
  • A young person themselves.
  • A professional on behalf of the individual with a disability or additional need.

Bladder and Bowel Service

The Calderdale Bladder & Bowel Service is a confidential specialist nurse led team that cares for both adults and children

Day Services

Our day service provides opportunities for people to develop and maintain life skills through group experiences.

Cross Lane Primary School - The Branch

Cross Lane Primary School - The Branch is Calderdale’s first Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Additional Resourced Provision (ARP). Children who attend The Branch must present with SEMH needs as their main barrier to accessing mainstream education.

Highbury Hive at Withinfields Primary (KS1)

The Highbury Hive at Withinfields provides another option for Key Stage 1 children with significant specialist educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and an Education Health Care plan (EHC). 

It aims to ensure that all children have access to high-quality, personalised teaching and learning, as well as inclusion opportunities within the mainstream school environment.

Whilst the Hive is based within Withinfields, it is essentially an extension of Highbury Specialist School; Highbury are named on their EHC plan, and the provision is run by Highbury staff.

Expert Hub

Our Experts are people with a learning disability, autistic people and family carers who use their lived experience to support organisations and services with their work.
