Advice from SEND professionals
If your child needs more support than the school can give, they can ask for help from SEND professionals.
That help may include
- Advice from the Specialist Inclusion Team
- Educational Psychologist
- Health professionals
Some of this help, such as advice, is provided free. Some help may come with a cost.
Any school asking for extra money to support a child or young person will need to show that they have already given support to the value of the notional budget, through a Provision Map.
At this point, the school may be considering a request for an EHC Needs Assessment. They must talk to parent carers about this as they need their permission to submit a request.
